Kevin Pelka is an experienced Project Managing Estimator with over 20 years of diverse industry background. He brings expertise in automation, manufacturing, and roofing, and will provide management oversight and client relations for Commercial Roofing & Waterproofing Hawaii.
(Honolulu, HI) – Commercial Roofing & Waterproofing of Hawaii, recently hired Kevin Pelka as a Project Managing Estimator. He comes from ICC Hawaii Industrial Structures, where he functioned as a Project Manager, and prior to ICC, worked in the Solar industry for REC Solar as a Sales Engineer. Pelka brings over 20 years of experience working on the mainland in the automation and manufacturing industries. With his first 10 years in the automation industry, he helped engineer automation solutions for companies such as Tesla and Amazon. With the decline in the automation industry, Pelka entered into the building construction industry through the manufacturing arm of James Hardie for designing manufacturing equipment for 3 years, and most recently Decra Roofing where he was introduced to the roofing industry and worked at Decra for 7 years, with his final years as a Plant Manager.
Kevin will be responsible for working with our AOAO and commercial clients as well as consultants and general contractors. In addition to estimating projects, he will be providing management oversight for all phases of the construction projects as well as client relations.
Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Pelka initially aspired to become a hockey player but eventually changed course gaining his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Western Michigan. After several transitions in career on the mainland, he got his MBA, and opened his own company as a consultant for automation and manufacturing. Pelka and his wife now reside in Hawaii where he enjoys the diversity of food here in Hawaii, his 4 children visiting on vacations and planning on joining the local ice hockey league.
